A sample ActivityPub feed
Can we display Social Web "notes" on the website? Let's find out!

If you're reading in the ActivityPub reader or in email, you're missing functionality in this post. Please hit the button for the full reading experience!
One of my big hopes for ActivityPub/Social Web was that we'd get the ability to have our social content right on the blog page. I particularly wanted likes and Fediverse comments.
I'm still hoping that'll happen natively, but meanwhile, I did a little vibe coding/hacking to put this together. Behold! All my "notes" posts!
It would be nice to have the ability to see replies on this page, too. I think it's possible, but I ran out of steam before I got there. At some point, it starts to seem like I'm building an ActivityPub client, and that seemed like more than I was willing to take on tonight...
It would be nice if viewers could actually interact with this content. But the problem with the Fediverse is that its well... federated. Which means I don't know where to send YOU so that you can interact with your content. Tootpick offers a little functionality here, but we need the equivalent that'll work for Ghost Network readers also!
If you'd like to comment on one of the notes above on Mastodon, you can right click on the "View original" button and copy the link. Paste that into the Mastodon search bar, and you'll have the post and can copy, repost/boost, or reply.
