Well, ok then.
We don't do anything by halves around here.

A couple months ago, I was looking at what was to come for my household. We needed to get Bucket Hat Ghost (a high school senior) through college applications and selections. Both adults in my household were looking at career transitions to come this year. That sounded like a lot, but I figured we were up for it.
And then, the other (fourth?) shoe dropped, and now we're also working our sixth-grader Small Ghost through selecting a new school for fall. We had a great visit to a candidate school today, but it's going to depend a bit on what they come back with on math. Small Ghost is about two years accelerated for math, and we need to figure out if this school can accommodate them. ("But our honors track for 7th grade math is Algebra I" is not the right answer for a sixth grader who is completing Algebra I.) And then there's an application! With essays! Someone shoot me now. It feels like I just finished dragging Bucket Hat Ghost across the finish line on essays, and now I get to do it with Small Ghost?
Oh, and we've got a cat with sudden litterbox issues, which has been oh so much fun. She got a clean bill of health at the vet this week (another thing to do), so that's good, but I'd have almost rather that they found something (treatable) than "It's behavioral, so here are three dozen things to try that might cause her to quit peeing in the kitchen." [Yes, seriously. It's a good thing I love this cat.]
Four-ish weeks to go before it's 100% Ghost work for me. I'm up 106% on freelancing income from last year's Q1, although to be fair, some of that's an influx of retainer clients who signed on for a year in January. It should be even a bit more, but I lost some time to a college visit, COVID, the kids' robotics team stuff, etc. I'm about a week behind, still. Using Asana has helped me see how far behind I am, but it's been a bit struggle-y to keep up with everything I'm doing right now. It'll be really nice to have fewer distractions starting in May...
And on that note, time to stop writing and start coding!
