Oh, ick!

In which I sent a totally messy newsletter, and found a bug

Oh, ick!

I was apparently pretty excited last month about the new newsletter options for Ghost. So excited that I did some playing with all the new settings in my admin panel. The top can be pink! The background can be black! The links can be green!

And then, apparently something else shiny caught my attention. Readers, I closed that part of the admin panel, and forgot about it.

Until today. If you read my newsletter, please forgive me for the design atrocity I just sent. Clearly I didn't hit the 'email' button on the preview panel before I sent it. If I had, I'd have seen this:

Sorry about that. Future newsletters should look better.

☁️On the "every cloud has a silver lining" side, my newsletter lands in several inboxes over at Ghost.org, and my styling accident revealed that CTA cards have a text styling problem, in the unlikely event that you're making CTA cards with bullet points in them, while using a black background for your newsletter.

So um... you're welcome, folks. ✨Spectral Web Services!✨ Sometimes we identify bugs even when not looking for bugs!🔮

If you don't work for Ghost and would like to learn from my mistakes, the take home message today is "Use the dang email preview button every time before you hit send, because it'll save you from doing something embarrassing.

p.s. Back to the usual mostly-once-a-week cadence now! Cathy out!
